The design intent was to create a comfortable space, with a focus on easy living, for a family of five. My role included space planning, furniture selection, and designing the living spaces. The goal was to inspire enjoyment of the indoor spaces, and also to encourage use of the outdoor amenities, including the boating, tennis and golf facilities.

As a second home meant to be used only seasonally, all the leather furniture and the area rugs throughout the house have hypoallergenic and non-toxic stain protection. In addition, the walls have been painted with low VOC paint, the wood floors are easy to maintain, and the bed linens are also easy to take care of. This vacation home is a place where the family will escape to Texas to spend time relaxing at home with friends and family, and to enjoy outdoor activities as well.
